Improving the efficiency of the European building stock through energy saving solutions, anti-seismic safety, living comfort and decentralized generation of renewable energy. This is the objective of the European project REHOUSE, funded with 10 million euro by the Horizon Europe program and coordinated by the Cartif Technology Center of Madrid, which comprises 25 partners, including ENEA, University of Basilicata, Rina Consulting , TERA, Steel tech, R.I. and Pedestrian Working for Italy

As summer in the southern hemisphere draws near, researchers are starting to work again at the remote Little Dome C site in Antarctica. An international team made up of 15 people will begin the deep drilling campaign for the European project Beyond Epica Oldest Ice. They will work for over two months on the Antarctic plateau at 3.200 metres above sea level, where the average summer temperature is -35°C. Over the next few years, the analysis of an ice core extracted from a depth of 2.7 km will enable the reconstruction of the world’s climate history, going back in time by 1.5 million years to discover information on temperature and on the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This project is fundamental for paleoclimatology studies.

ENEA,ISNOVA and Logical Soft have developed 20 energy measures to curb hospitals e public administrations’bills as part of the Energy Efficency Awareness Month, to raise awareness on energy efficiency throughout November.

A marked decrease in sea ice thickness occurred in the area in front of the Mario Zucchelli Italian Base in the Ross Sea where the 38th Expedition of the National Research Program in Antarctica (PNRA) took off, funded by the Ministry of University and Research, managed by ENEA for logistic planning and the National Research Council (Cnr) for scientific planning. For the first time sea ice, typically ranging around 200 centimetrs, has thinned to around 120 centimeters.

The Annual Report on the Energy Certification of Buildings drawn by ENEA and the Italian Energy and Environment Thermotechnical Committee (CTI) on the basis of almost 1.3 million energy performance certificates (APE), shows that the energy performance of our national building stock is improving.

The first geo-referenced and interactive map of the Basilicata vineyards to protect and enhance the local wine sector has been developed as part of the PRO.S.IT project, and carried out, among others, by the Qui Vulture Consortium and the University of Basilicata, in collaboration with ENEA, it was funded with 260 thousand euro by the Basilicata Region.
