The winners of the second edition of the Carlotta Award, addressed to women scientists under 40 engaged in wheat research, promoted by ENEA, National Academy of Sciences, known as the XL (40) and METROFOOD-RI have been announced.

ENEA, in collaboration with the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Southern Italy, has developed an innovative biopesticide that protects bees, exploiting molecules that exert natural control on infesting organisms.

Horizon Europe, the European Union research and innovation funding programme, has recently funded the new project REPRODIVAC.

The arrival of the first technical crew at the Mario Zucchelli station in Baia Terra Nova marked the beginning of the 38th Italian expedition to Antarctica, which involves 240 technicians and researchers working on 50 projects, mainly focused on atmospheric sciences, geology, paleoclimate, biology, oceanography and astronomy.
