An innovative platform for real-time monitoring of the central Mediterranean which works as an integrated laboratory for remote sensing, ocean models, chemical analyses and marine property data is the outcome of the activities ENEA conducted as part of the Marine Hazard project, funded with the PON “Research and competitiveness 2007-2013” measure and coordinated by the Cnr.
Cnr President Maria Chiara Carrozza and ENEA President Gilberto Dialuce have signed a collaboration agreement to promote and implement joint national and international R&D projects. The five-year agreement also pursues the valorisation and dissemination of technical-scientific knowledge, the creation, sharing and promotion of research infrastructures, advanced training and supply of services, as well as the transfer of technologies, products and know-how to third parties.
ENEA and Centria, a distribution company of the Estra Group, have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at testing new standards for blending natural gas and hydrogen for the gas distribution network. Specifically, the memorandum of understanding provides for ENEA to use the Centria Prove Camp infrastructure in Arezzo and a specific know-how to conduct experimental activities with the blends, contributing to the energy transition process, guided by sustainability and environment protection.
ENEA has released the new version 2.0 of RECON – Renewable Energy Community ecONomic simulator – the web application that performs preliminary energy, economic and financial assessments with the goal to promote the creation of renewable energy communities (REC) and of jointly acting renewables self-consumers (CSS).
A study conducted at the ENEA Laboratory of Biomedical Technologies suggests that inflammation of the intestine is associated with impaired cognition processes. In particular, chronic and acute colitis disrupts the formation of new neurons (neurogenesis) within the hippocampus. The findings of the study were published in “Neural Regeneration Research”.
An autonomous electric robot-boat equipped with tools to conduct non-invasive investigations - including archaeological ones - on lake and seabeds, is being developed at the ENEA Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory as part of the LAHKE project, with the aim of transferring advanced technologies to archaeological research in inland and marine waters.
