A prototype of electrified scaffold to allow stem cells transplantation for spinal cord injury regeneration. This is what is intended to be developed in the frame of the RISEUP European project, carried out by a consortium led by ENEA and composed of Italian partners (Sapienza University of Rome, Rise Technologies srl), as well as Spanish (Universitat Politècnica de València, UPV, and Centro Investigación Príncipe Felipe, CIPF) and French (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique - CNRS).
ENEA's solar "park" is expanding. AGATUR is the experimental plant in which ENEA researchers have successfully tested a gas microturbine to generate electricity, powered with a methane and hydrogen mix to simulate the effect of injecting green hydrogen into the gas network in a content variable over time. The outcomes of the tests performed at the ENEA Casaccia Research Center (Rome) - where the Italian hydrogen valley is being built – were given on the occasion of the UN World Day of Creativity and Innovation.
The climate in most of the Mediterranean, the rest of the EU and North and Central America is currently not suitable for the establishment of tropical fruit flies, although their potential geographical distribution varies significantly. These are the findings of international research involving institutions from four different continents, including ENEA, which studied the effects of climate change on the invasiveness of these insects.
Assessing the health effects of airborne particulate levels in relation to the microclimate in different indoor work environments. This is the aim of the study launched by Inail with ENEA, Sapienza University of Rome, University of Cagliari and CNR. "This is a new scientific investigation as part of our 'VIEPI - Integrated Assessment of Indoor Particulate Exposure' project, which studies the correlations between atmospheric particulate measurements and microclimate conditions in indoor environments, in order to understand the implications of occupational exposure", says Armando Pelliccioni, a researcher at INAIL and scientific coordinator of the VIEPI project.
Olive oil, wine and pasta, key elements of the Mediterranean diet protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, will be able to count on the climate services developed by MED-GOLD, the main EU research project on climate and agriculture involving 16 partners in 6 different countries, including ENEA for global coordination and Barilla for pasta in Italy.
