Research: Opportunities at the Big Science Business Forum
Registration is now open to participate in the Italian Space at the Big Science Forum 2026 (BSBF), a biennial event designed to promote dialogue and collaboration between large research infrastructures and companies interested in participating in their international programs. The next edition of the BSBF will take place from October 27 to 30, 2026, in Maastricht (Netherlands).
ENEA is participating in the event as a member of ILO Network Italia (INI), which will coordinate institutional relations and the creation of the Italian Space, where Italian companies will be able to have individual and shared exhibition spaces. INI is the network of Industrial Liaison Officers (ILO), which brings together experts from ENEA and other national research bodies (CNR, INAF, and INFN) to support Italian companies in accessing tender procedures for large international infrastructures like the CERN and ITER.
"The initiative is part of ENEA mission to support the competitiveness of the national industrial system in major international scientific programs. The BSBF is, in fact, the main opportunity for European companies to learn about upcoming tenders, discussing them directly with representatives of Big Science organizations and creating the synergies necessary for participating in major international projects" said Paolo Acunzo at the ENEA Technology Transfer Department and member of the INI – ILO Network Italia. “Once again this year, we are organizing Spazio Italia, one of the key areas at the BSBF, dedicated to businesses, supporting italian technological and entrepreneurial skills that have already successfully demostrated capabilities in the field of Big Science.”
Over 1,300 delegates from more than 500 organizations in 30 countries participated in the previous edition of BSBF, which took place in Trieste in 2024, confirming its position as a key date in the market calendar.
