Innovation: First Spring School on nuclear energy at ENEA Brasimone
At the start the first Spring School Brasimone on nuclear energy, an experimental open innovation programme promoted by the Metropolitan City and Municipality of Bologna, in collaboration with ENEA and newcleo. Applications are open until 28 February 2026.
The initiative is designed for national and international start-ups and research groups committed to advancing applied research and technological innovation in the field of IV Generation nuclear power.
From 13 to 17 April 2026, six selected teams will take part in an intensive five-day programme at the ENEA Brasimone Research Centre (Bologna). Participants will work alongside leading experts to develop and validate advanced technological solutions, build proof-of-concept prototypes, and establish long-term collaborations between public research and industry.
Participation in the Spring School Brasimone is free of charge and includes accommodation and meals, thematic workshops, open innovation activities, and privileged access to ENEA and newcleo laboratories, infrastructures and research facilities. The programme also offers valuable networking opportunities and an immersive experience in the Bologna Apennines, a growing hub for scientific excellence. Teams could promote international visibility, high-level collaboration and concrete technological impact to accelerate work and contribute to the future of next-generation nuclear technologies.
