Energy: Nuclear, the Director-General of ITER Organization visits ENEA Research Center and DTT in Frascati

On August 5 Pietro Barabaschi - Director-General of ITER- visited the ENEA Research Center and the DTT site in Frascati.

On the occasion, Barabaschi, who is also a member of the DTT Scientific Technical Committee, met the ENEA President Gilberto Dialuce and the DG Giorgio Graditi, and Francesco Romanelli – president of the DTT consortium .

The discussions focused on the progress in the ITER and DTT construction and future collaborations on areas of common interest. During the discussion the Italian strategy in nuclear energy, particularly in fusion, was also presented. Barabaschi visited the most relevant technological facilities including the 14 MeV Fracati neutron Generator, the Hot Radial Pressing Laboratory, where significant research activity is carried out in support of ITER, and the Frascati Cold Coil Test Facility where the first DTT component, the magnet power supply, has been recently installed.
